    Benefits of Mucky Ducks!

First Tastes and Oral Sensory Stage

Exposing children to a wide variety of foods at a young age can reduce fussy eating and evidence suggests that children are more likely to make healthier choices as adults. Mucky Ducks carefully selects seasonal foods that children may be both familiar & unfamiliar with. The fun, relaxed setting allows to them to freely explore the food not just it's taste but fully explore its colour, smell and texture.

    Independent Play

Removing strict rules fosters a sense of independence in children. They become more confident in their abilities, allowing them to play independently without constantly seeking validation or support.

    Physical Development

Mucky Ducks involves hands-on activities that contribute to physical development. Pouring, shovelling, and other activities help strengthen both large and small muscle groups, fine motor skills, enhancing muscle control and coordination.

    Concentration and Future Skills

Engaging in messy play requires high levels of concentration. Children explore objects, engage their senses, and communicate their discoveries, promoting essential learning skills. This concentration can also translate into focus when learning and practicing other practical skills.

    Curiosity, Imagination, and Exploration

Mucky Ducks encourages children to experiment without fear of mistakes. There are no strict rules, allowing them to explore and experiment freely. This fosters curiosity, imagination, and a deeper understanding of their surroundings.

    Communication and Language Development

Mucky Ducks provides opportunities for interactions, enriching relationships and allows children to communicate and share discoveries through gestures and objects, enhancing cognition.

I set up Mucky Ducks after becoming a mum and seeing how many parents were worrying about food and the mess of weaning. I wanted to create a fun safe space for babies and parents to explore food. Some call it messy play we call it an all-you-can-eat buffet!
