The Mucky Ducks Leaders' Programme is designed for people interested in becoming a business owner but don't have the financial resources or confidence to become a Mucky Ducks Franchise Business Owner, yet. The aim of the programme is to give you time to set up the business, build up a good customer base, earn money (you keep all the profits) and build your confidence in delivering events.
You will be expected to have experience of playing with young children, this does not need to be in a professional setting this may be your own, nieces, nephews or grandchildren.
You'll also need to be ok with mess! And understand there is a fair amount of cleaning, so you really can't be afraid to get your hands dirty.
Good organisational and communication skills are important for running the business side of things, so make sure you tell us about those in your application.
Equipment- You will receive a basic starter pack of equipment, including; trays, mats, sensory toys, baths, the Mucky Ducks cleaning station and water station. This will allow you to run Mucky Ducks and Mucky Ducks Minis events. You will need to provide your own cleaning equipment.
Training & Support- You will receive basic training which means you will get the same training as business owners but this will all be done virtually. You will receive monthly check in's and access to the leaders & business owners WhatsApp group for ongoing support. You will also get a copy of the Operations Manual, a 65 page step by step guide of how to deliver events.
With training and support you will book venues, advertise and run the events. During your training we will help you carry out market research to find great venues. You will have the website, booking system and your own dedicated social media accounts to help you promote your events. And you'll get all your equipment, training & guides on how to make the trays look magical.
The idea behind the Leaders' programme is to give you the opportunity to run the business without the usual setup costs or risk. The Mucky Ducks Leaders' Programme is a self employed contract that runs for 6 months, during which the goal is to help you build confidence and financial resources to potentially transition into becoming a Mucky Ducks Business Owner. On completion of the Leaders' Programme you will be given the opportunity to purchase the business at a heavily discounted rate. While there is no obligation to take this step, a 5 month review will allow both parties to discuss progress and potentially, extend your contract for a further 6 months.
Being self-employed as a Mucky Ducks Leader offers several advantages. If you are currently employed, you can keep your job while also working on a self-employed basis. For those on maternity leave, you can earn additional income on a self employed basis without it affecting your maternity pay. If you're already self-employed, adding this role is straightforward since you're already managing your tax returns. And if you’re not currently working, you won’t need to pay any taxes until your earnings exceed £12,750.
